Ergonomic operation, more compact design, higher safety level, combination of productivity with safety and integration of functions. These are only a few of the many characteristics on which our designers lay value when they write the specifications for new products and product families in co-operation with the product managers.

New features from the Schmersal Group. Always up-to-date.

Rugged design spring-return joystick switches
(27.05.2011)

For "streamlined" man-machine interfaces and intuitive operation:

Forwards, backwards, right and left: Spring-return joystick switches from the Schmersal Group allow the operator to move a woodworking machine tool in four directions. Or – if the manufacturer has opted for the maintained joystick switch - a single switching unit can perform four different lockable functions. more

Extension of the BDF series
(10.11.2010)

Compact and flexible: operating panel with emergency stop device The new BDF 100 operating panel enables a direct mounting of the emergency stop device on the safety guard and therefore within the field of vision onto the process without any great effort. more

Introducing a new generation of safety sensors
(10.11.2010)

The CSS technology developed and patented by Schmersal has proven itself at international level. The SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2010 is the perfect platform to present the next step in the development: the RSS 36 electronic safety sensor. more

Robust position switches with safety function for the Ex zones 1 and 21
(12.04.2010)

Universally applicable, extremely reliable Machinery safety and explosion protection are two fields placing extremely high requirements on industrial switchgear. The new position switches of the EX-T 335 series meet these requirements and therefore are suitable for the position monitoring of safety guards in explosive atmospheres. more

For universal applications: new safety-monitoring modules
(12.04.2010)

More functions for a more attractive price: the advantages of standardisation Until now, the SRB 211 series featured different safety-monitoring modules for the evaluation of the signals of conventional safety switchgear, magnetic safety switches and optoelectronic safety guards, the so-called AODP´s. The new SRB 211 series enables wiring all three types of safety switchgear to the same safety-monitoring module. more

New technology in a familiar jacket - CSS 16
(24.11.2009)

The latest safety sensor technology as an alternative to electromechanics. The AZ 16 is to many companies the safety switch par excellence: the Schmersal Group already has produced many millions of this series and the switch is still highly popular. Schmersal now presents a new safety sensor, which will help many users make the step from electromechanical to non-contact guard door monitoring. Although the CSS 16 has the latest sensor technology inside, its basic size is exactly the same as that of the AZ 16 – with this particular difference that in the CSS devices the mechanical actuator is replaced by a compact target. more

Compact position switch with safety function Z/T 196
(14.10.2009)

Smaller than a standardised switch – smooth fitting. The Schmersal Group presents as an Innovation at Interlift 2009 - the latest position switch range with safety function with our Z/T 196 series. more

Position switch with remote reset ZSM 476
(14.10.2009)

For hard-to-access mounting situations. With the ZSM 476, the Schmersal Group presents a latching position switch with multiple contacts for use both in elevator technology and in general machinery construction. more

Robust and flexible to use: new safety mats SMS 4/5
(05.05.2009)

The operating principle of these tactile safety devices is very simple: if a person steps on the mat, the connected safety relay module will stop the hazardous movement of the machine. In this way, the hazardous areas on wood-processing machines, scissor lifts or punching plants can be simply and efficiently safe-guarded. more

Non-contact magnetic interlock MZM 100 with adjustable latching force
(05.05.2009)

The MZM 100 is a solenoid interlock with non-contact operating principle, in which the locking force of 500 N is electromagnetically generated. The absence of a mechanical locking offers for instance the advantage that the magnetic interlock can be smoothly integrated in the surrounding construction and that no annoying rattling is produced on vibrating machines. For the non safety-related latching, which is required to keep the door closed, this electromagnet is used as well. more
