The SFB Port Extender (SFB) stands for greater flexibility in decentralized automation:
This powerful extension for the SFB significantly simplifies the connection of additional switching devices in the field. Up to four PCB modules can be connected per SFB—each of which enables the connection of additional digital I/O components. The result: maximum flexibility for customized applications in automation technology.
A key advantage of the SFB Port Extender is the ability to connect a larger number of non-safety-related switching devices to the SFB. These can be easily integrated and evaluated via the three supported fieldbus protocols—ideal for heterogeneous system environments. The power supply is provided directly via the SFB connection, which reduces installation effort and simplifies system integration.
Technical features at a glance:
Plug-in module for customer-specific control panels, e.g. with illuminated pushbuttons, emergency stop devices, or other digital I/O devices
Up to 4 port extenders can be connected per SFB
8 digital inputs (24 VDC) for electromechanical or electronic switches
8 digital outputs (24 VDC / 300 mA) for LED indicators, lamps, and other loads (total current max. 800 mA)
2-channel safety input for connecting safety switches with contacts
